Hosted by Tevi, this online session will introduce enterprises in Cornwall to the basics around exporting their goods and services. Being a new/novice exporter can be daunting both in time and money. It is important to understand how DIT can help you prepare and develop your export activities.
Join this session to appreciate why you should export and the assistance available from DIT. We will consider the following:

About the speakers
Dr Colin Piper – International Trade Adviser (ITA): Colin is an ITA with a chemical industry background. Prior to joining DIT (UKTI) in Oct 2009 he worked for a Cornish chemistry services firm and is an accomplished business development professional with over 11-years’ experience of generating leads and securing orders from the Pharma, Agrochem and Biotech sectors worldwide. Since joining DIT as an ITA Colin has assisted eligible companies to grow their export sales and given advice on the practicalities of exporting. During his time in this role Colin has established relationships with new and existing clients, supporting many of them by means of business support programmes provided by DIT and ERDF.
Nigel Barker – Digital Trade Adviser: Nigel works as a Digital Trade Adviser for the Department for International Trade. He started his digital career over 30 years ago as a Systems Analyst before working as a Software Architect and Web Application Developer. His approach throughout was always to put the customer or user at the heart of the experience. Having migrated to a digital marketing agency, Nigel joined DIT 2016 and for the past four years has supported and advised businesses on their international digital strategies. Working alongside ITA’s like Colin, Nigel helps businesses increase their visibility in the target markets throughout the world.
Tevi is an ERDF-funded programme supporting Cornish SMEs to grow whist contributing to Cornwall’s environmental growth priorities and circular economy transition. Tevi currently supports over 350 enterprises through bespoke consultancy services, challenge networks and a grant scheme. Tevi is delivered by the University of Exeter in partnership with Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Cornwall Council and Cornwall Development Company.
