Improving Soil Health in Cornwall for Landowners and Farmers

September 16, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Tevi and Agri-tech Cornwall present an online event aimed at helping landowners, businesses and farmers to improve soil health in Cornwall.

After the success of our Field to Fork webinar, Tevi and Agri-tech Cornwall are collaborating to bring you an introduction into some exciting, innovative projects by Cornwall’s businesses that are working to directly improve the health of our soils. This event is for farmers and landowners who are interested in finding out what they can do to preserve our soil for the future, and for businesses seeking to break new ground using circular economic processes to turn their waste into an environmental offering.

Confirmed speakers

Steve Evans, Tree-Investment Ltd, is developing a successful, sustainable approach to tree planting and the creation of mulch that supports the establishment of new trees – something that is vitally important if Cornwall is to meet its ambitious tree-planting targets.

Jim Foote, Bennamann Ltd, has helped to develop a market-disrupting system of bio-methane production. This entirely circular process also results in a digestate which, rather than a waste product, is used to enrich the farm’s soil.

Becky Willson, Duchy College, is part of the team that is working on the vital Soil Carbon Project. She will explain how farmers can not only monitor their soil, but also manage their impact upon it in order to measurably improve its quality.

During each talk, we will collate your questions in Zoom’s chat function, and afterwards we will direct them to the relevant member of the panel.
