We are excited to announce that Chris Packham will be providing a keynote speech at this years Cornwall Sustainability Awards. The event, sponsored by Tevi will showcase outstanding business activity in the following four categories:

  • Green Innovation at the time of Coronavirus
  • Carbon Neutral
  • Circular Economy
  • Environmental Growth

Chris Packham has gained recognition as a naturalist, television presenter, writer, photographer, conservationist, campaigner and filmmaker.

As a broadcaster he’s presented many popular natural history programmes since the beginning of his career in 1986 when he was a presenter on The Really Wild Show. He recently explained what it was like to live with Aspergers in the documentary Aspergers and Me.

Awards include the Dilys Breese BTO Medal for ‘his outstanding work in promoting science to new audiences’ and the Wildscreen Panda Award for Outstanding Achievement in recognition of his significant contribution to wildlife filmmaking, conservation and the public’s understanding of the environment.

In 2014 Chris and a small production team set off for Malta to document the Spring killing spree of migrating birds. Their video and social media campaign ‘Malta: Massacre on Migration’ was used to highlight the scale of the slaughter and bring about change. Later that year Chris was voted ‘Conservation Hero of the Year’ in the Birders’ Choice Awards organised by Birdwatch magazine.

In May 2016 Chris’s autobiography, ’Fingers in the Sparkle Jar: A Memoir’, was released to critical acclaim, reaching number 1 in The Sunday Times Bestsellers in just 2 weeks and in early 2018 it was voted the UK’s Favourite Nature Book in an online poll organised by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

Chris supports wildlife, conservation and environmental charities as president, vice president, patron and supporter and has just launched a range of outdoor clothing designed specifically with naturalists in mind, especially the young where he’s combined fashion edge with fun educational features.
